Ar An Dé Deiridh

A new play entitled Ar An Dé Deiridh, based on the folklore and history of Connemara that brings the ancient stories and place names of the place to life.Produced by Gliogar, a collection of Connemara artists, and with Caoimhghín Ó hEoghusa as lead actor, this play is putting the story of the old Greek marathon in the context of the Norman conquest of Iar-Chonnachta in 1256A.D.

Written and Directed by Harry Hennessy, Produced by Gliogar. Set and Costume by Saoirse O’Shea. First developed and performed in An Taibhdhearc, Galway in April 2024 it toured Connemara July 2024.
